Patient Engagement Portal

 

To allow you to have control over your appointments we use the secure online, Patient Engagement Portal. This allows you to confirm attendance at an upcoming appointment or request to rebook or cancel your hospital appointments online, using your smart phone or computer.

This service gives you quick and easy access to all of your letters and any messages sent to you, making your experience at our hospitals smoother. Each time a new letter is added to the portal, you will receive a notification (depending on your phone signal) with a link to access it. If this link is not used and the letter not accessed within 48 hours, a paper copy will be sent by post.

We will send you a link via a text message and/or an email.  Text messages will always be sent from this number 07507 313 433 and emails will always be sent from this email address noreply.pep@lwh.nhs.uk, so you’ll always know it’s from us (tip save these details into your contact list). 

If you would prefer to be contacted by email or to opt out of digital communication, you can choose to do this either by updating your details in the portal (login and select the method you wish to be contacted from within the Profile tab) or by contacting the department coordinating your care directly (contact information can be found here).

Getting set up

If we have your up-to-date contact details on record, you do not need to set anything up on your devices, instead you will automatically receive:

Please note: only those who have received a message to get set up on the portal will be able to view the link.

These details will always remain the same which means you can be sure it’s only us contacting you and not anyone else, so please feel free save these details into your contacts.

Key details:

  • When receiving text messages from us it will come from the number: 07507 313 433 (please note; you cannot call or text this number)
  • When you are contacted by text or email, please login as soon as possible (within 24 hours) to avoid getting further notifications and save us sending your letter in the post.
  • When you login, please accept the appointment and view your letter and any additional information. 
  • If you need to rebook or cancel an appointment, please give at least 3 working days notice where possible, to enable us to reuse the appointment slot for someone else.
  • What is the Patient Engagement Portal?

    The Patient Engagement Portal is a secure online portal which allows you to access all of your appointment information in one place, by using your smart phone, tablet or computer. You are able to confirm, request to rebook or cancel your hospital appointments.

  • Why am I being offered the Patient Engagement Portal?

    Liverpool Women's Hospital is working hard to make your experience with us as smooth as possible, with this service offering quick and easy reminders and control of your appointments. You’re also less likely to miss appointments because of postal delays or errors.

    This service also helps us to save costs, such as post and print, meaning more money for our lifesaving services and equipment.

  • Do I need to create a Patient Engagement Portal account?

    No, the hospital will create the account for you if we have either your up-to-date mobile number or email address on file. No, the hospital will create the account for you. You only need to access it when we notify you, or if you wish to look again at any of your appointment details.

    Please make sure we have your up-to-date mobile number and/or email address by:

    • Calling our Patient Access Centre on 0151 702 4328
    • Speaking to one of reception colleagues when you’re next in the hospital and
    • Updating your details with your GP surgery (we always take our data from the NHS Spine, which is updated by the GP but we also need to hear from you directly in order to amend our records).

    When any of your contact details change please always update your new details with your GP surgery as well as letting us know too.

  • How do I get access to the Patient Engagement Portal?

    The hospital will send you a link via a text message and/ or an email. Text messages will always be sent from this number 07507 313 433 and emails will always be sent from this email address noreply.pep@lwh.nhs.uk, so you’ll always know it’s from us.

    Please then follow the steps below:

    • Click on the link in the message, it will always be this: https://patientportal.lwh.nhs.uk
    • When you’ve clicked through either enter your mobile number or your email address, along with your Date of Birth.  You can swap between the two using the grey button that’s underneath the ‘next’ button.
    • You’ll then be sent a one-time 6 digit authentication code
    • Enter the 6 digit code within 2 minutes (if you run out of time you can always request another one to be sent by clicking on the link underneath the green “Login” button).
    • You are then securely logged in to the Patient Engagement Portal.

     

  • Do I have to use the Patient Engagement Portal?

    No, you don’t! If you don’t have internet access or prefer not to use the portal, you will still receive paper letters in the post as usual. This ensures all patients can continue managing their appointments in a way that works best for them.
